CONSTRAINTS

Changing perception and the way we look at seniors
Old age is all about generations. Every generation is unique.
Young seniors want intergenerational spaces, but do not wish to be with generations that they deem too old.

THE BRAINJUICE APPROACH:

What if old age were a second youth?

“Being old means having been young for longer than other people”

Living better for longer: everybody wins

THE PROPOSAL: STEP UP©

Step Up© is a programme designed to unite a community around the issue of ageing well and the values of sport. To reveal a second youth at the heart of every young senior. This programme is arranged into three areas: Health, Community and Sport.

To help them live better and be in good health, Step Up© assists seniors in their search for personal balance. This balance involves regular sport, which enables them to stay dynamic and active. Together, Step Up© members can exchange ideas, play a sport in a relaxed environment and share knowledge with each other. A real community is created to avoid isolation and motivate its members.

We have devised two ways of expressing the programme concept: an urban sports trail in public parks and a range of places for socialising and sport.
